Please: keep the music ideas coming! Music you think Pádraig would’ve liked and which was published over the past year or so.
You will remember that I talked about different gadgets that I thought could help Pádraig, and persons with similar injuries to his, help communicate.
One of them was the Emotiv EPOC headset. If you don’t remember, have a listen to Tan Le introducing it during a TED talk she gave five years ago, a talk that has been viewed 2.1m times.
Today, the headset arrived! – It looks really interesting but also a little bit tricky to use. Certainly lots to learn about this new and evolving technology. If it really worked, just imagine: a computer programme interpreting Pádraig’s thoughts and acting on them!
It’ll take some time to figure out how it works but it will happen!

Great idea on the music front Reinhard!! I think Pádraig would love “Hold Back the River” by James May and “Riptide” by Vance Joy. I’ll keep thinking. I wanted to send over a book to Pádraig. I think himslef and yourself will love it. Like Seán, this particular book reminded me of Pádraig’s thesis.

Thank you for the great music suggestions, Clíodhna!! Looks like, with a little help from his friends, we’ll be getting at least a single, if not a double or triple album together!! You could just imagine how miserable he’d be if he’d to rely on ‘my’ music(: Keep thinking and post suggestions!! – Can’t wait for the book! I’ll read it out for him. (And I’ll have to talk to him about his dissertation – )

Ah yes… Wild Promises by Ballymore is a great one. Pádraig’s friend Cian Mac Carthaigh who works in Raidio na Life plays for Wild Promises and he is playing in that recording . So I think Pádraig would love it all the more!
