Went out to see the ceremony on O’Connell Street – which we missed, but where President Michael D. shook Pádraig’s hand – had something to eat in the Greshams, and walked back up to Glasnevin cemetery – all in all a good Easter Sunday and a bit of training for the camino next week.

Serendipity… the President and Pádraig came into a conversation I had yesterday morning. I was at an inter-faith sunrise service overlooking the Liffey valley (actual valley, not shopping centre) and was talking to some people I know. The talk turned to Áras an Uachtaráin, for whatever reason. I mentioned the garden party which Pádraig attended last June and showed the people the photograph on my phone which includes him and the President. A bit of a theme there! Louise
